Tyler and Robin’s story starts at Norfolk Academy, where they both went for middle and high school. They didn’t connect until winter break in 2016. That’s when Robin’s phone buzzed with a Snapchat message—not from Tyler, but from his friend, who’d grabbed his phone to send something random. Intrigued, Robin replied, and Tyler followed up later with an apology and an idea: “Want to Oovoo with our friends tonight?” (Because, obviously, it was 2016.) What started as a chaotic group video call with ten people eventually narrowed down to just the two of them. They talked about everything and nothing until 6 AM, eventually falling asleep on the call. That night, two 16-year-olds discovered they’d found someone they’d never get tired of talking to. After that, Robin started tutoring Tyler in chemistry—let’s just say it was a convenient excuse to spend more time together. Their bond only grew stronger, and Tyler eventually came up with a plan: if he could beat Robin’s score on the next chemistry test, she’d go on a date with him. Spoiler alert—Tyler pulled off an A and scored their first date: Rancho Grande. From then on, they were inseparable, experiencing all the sweetness of teenage love. Tyler officially asked Robin to be his girlfriend on January 9, 2016. Neither of them could’ve guessed that exactly ten years later, they’d be walking down the aisle together. From the very beginning, Tyler and Robin were embraced by each other’s families. They felt a sense of belonging that made it easy to see they weren’t just becoming a couple—they were becoming one big family. Over the past decade, they’ve grown up side by side. After graduating from high school, Tyler headed to Bridgewater College while Robin went to James Madison—again, conveniently just 15 minutes apart. Those years were filled with road trips, late-night adventures with roommates, and countless visits to see each other. After college, they began building a life together. Tyler became a teacher and returned to their high school to coach football—a full-circle moment, stepping back onto the field where he used to play.&nbsp;Robin pursued her dream of being a speech-language pathologist. Both found joy in helping kids succeed and let’s be honest—getting summers off together is a sweet bonus! They moved into their own home together and adopted their kitten, Lincoln, who immediately became the heart of their home (along with their other cats, CC and Levi, who keep the house lively). Between Eagles games, concerts, and traveling, they’ve created a life filled with love, laughter, and endless adventures. In 2023, Tyler asked Robin a question she didn’t have to think twice about. After ten amazing years, they’re ready to say, “I do.” They’ve watched each other grow up—now, it’s time to grow old together.

Dress Code

Our wedding party will be dressed in timeless black, but we’d love for our guests to bring rich color and sparkle to the celebration! For this black-tie winter event, think jewel tones, deep colors, shimmer, and shine. Dresses:Floor-length gowns are the gold standard for black tie. Jewel tones such as emerald, sapphire, ruby, or amethyst are perfect choices, as are metallics like gold, silver, or bronze. Sequins, velvet, and satin will add that touch of winter glamour! Tuxes: A classic black tuxedo or black suit with a black bow tie is traditional for black tie events, but feel free to add personality with a colorful pocket square, tie, or socks in jewel tones to match the theme. To keep the look cohesive, casual attire such as khakis or jeans would not be appropriate for this occasion.
